Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has expressed his condolences following the passing of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, the First Gentleman of the United Republic of Tanzania and husband of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

In a public statement, the Prime Minister conveyed the sympathies of the Ethiopian government and citizens to the Tanzanian leadership.

"I have learnt with profound sorrow of the passing of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, First Gentleman of the United Republic of Tanzania and husband of Her Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan," Prime Minister Abiy stated.

"On behalf of the Government and people of Ethiopia, I extend our deepest condolences to Her Excellency, her family, and the people of Tanzania," he continued, maintaining that Ethiopia stands in solidarity with the neighboring nation.

The Prime Minister concluded the message by affirming, "Our thoughts and sympathies remain with her family and the people of Tanzania during this difficult time."
