The leaders collectively affirmed their intention to bolster parliamentary exchanges and strengthen people-to-people connections, recognising the vital role cultural understanding plays in fortifying bilateral relations.

This focus on fostering closer human connections suggests a commitment to building a more sustainable and multifaceted partnership extending beyond mere economic considerations.

The meeting, organised by Minister Melaku, serves as a crucial step towards solidifying Ethiopia's position as a key partner for Japan in Africa.

The discussions lay the groundwork for concrete collaborations to be explored during the TICAD-9 Summit, where further dialogues and agreements are anticipated.

Ethiopia looks to attract further Japanese investment and secure advancements in technology that will bolster its industrial growth, according to the Ethiopian Embassy in Tokyo.
