During a recent meeting at the TICAD-9 conference, Ethiopia's State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera, highlighted the enduring partnership between his country and Japan. The discussion, held with Japan's State Minister of Foreign Affairs, FUJI Hisayuki, focused on expanding cooperation across various fields.

Ambassador Hadera emphasized the need to build on their shared priorities in development, peace, and security. To achieve this, he proposed establishing a regular mechanism for political consultations and a joint forum specifically for economic and technical cooperation.

Highlighting Ethiopia's promising economic landscape, Ambassador Hadera invited Japanese companies to invest in key sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, ICT, mining, and tourism. He also underscored the country's ongoing macroeconomic reforms, aimed at creating a more favorable environment for foreign investment.

On his part, FUJI Hisayuki recognized Ethiopia's strategic importance in the region and beyond, noting its significant potential for business and investment. Both ministers agreed on the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in a wide range of areas, further solidifying the ties between the two nations.
