Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his heartfelt condolences to Nigeria following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Abiy stated, "On behalf of the Government and People of Ethiopia, I extend sincere condolences to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari and to the people and Government of Nigeria. Our thoughts are with you during this time of mourning."

Buhari, a former military general who campaigned on an anti-corruption platform, passed away at age 82. His death was announced by the Nigerian presidential press office in a statement on Sunday.
