Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed urged citizens and leaders to intensify cooperation, stating that the concerted effort is crucial for moving beyond the country's initial successes and truly building a proud nation.
The prime minister described the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Abay River and the initiation of projects as a commendable success, emphasizing that this success must be evident in the life of every person.
He urged the people to cooperate and support those in need to improve their livelihoods, stating, "Seeing the improved life of the farmer is a source of satisfaction for us, so let's cooperate and support those who are struggling and enhance their lives."
The prime minister stressed that only through this collective effort will Ethiopia’s prosperity reach the envisioned level of greatness.
Speaking during the handover of modern rural villages to farmers in the Central Ethiopia Region, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) expressed his delight at seeing the farmers equipped with modern amenities like current standard sanitation facilities, solar power, and large backyard vegetable gardens.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) further elaborated: “If we coordinate the farmers, the urban dwellers, and investors and build 100 rural model villages, and then 1,000 next year, it will continue to multiply and positively impact many citizens.”
The Prime Minister gave a working mission to the residents, leaders, and all well-wishers in the Kembata and Halaba Zones, challenging them to construct an additional 100 model villages by next year, using only the resources of the zones and public cooperation, without adding government support.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), upon handing over the completed model villages in the Halaba and Kembata Zones, expressed confidence that "it is possible to do even better than this." He added, "I am certain that you will accomplish this mission through cooperation."
He then made a promise: "If the zone's leadership organizes the people and raises the number of rural model village homes to one hundred by next year, I will return."
