Finance Minister Ahmed Shide confirmed that the reform has achieved a powerful dual victory: driving core development entities out of the red and into the black while simultaneously securing verified economic growth for the nation."
He stated that a robust economic transformation has occurred in recent years, one that has secured benefits for the public. The minister specifically highlighted that institutions, particularly State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), have become significantly more efficient and effective.
The minister further noted that since the economic reform began, there have been tangible improvements in budget-funded development works, the efficiency of recurrent expenditure, and the growth of public finance.
In a related statement, Planning and Development Minister Dr. Fitsum Assefa asserted that the homegrown economic reform has changed the mindset that previously acted as an obstacle to pursuing a new path to growth.
She added that the reform, which was motivated by public demand, has practically demonstrated that economic growth can be achieved across diverse sectors.
