At 4,377 meters (14,360 feet) above sea level, Mount Tullu Dimtu is the second-highest point in all of Ethiopia and the crowning summit of the spectacular Bale Mountains. From the mountain's peak, visitors can survey the surrounding area and spot a variety of unique, endemic wildlife across the vast Sanetti Plateau. These animals include the rare Ethiopian wolf (also called the Ethiopian fox) and the imposing giant lobelias (giant plant species), including the big-headed African mole-rat, which is sometimes also called a giant rodent, among other creatures found only in Ethiopia.
