The European Union’s Global Gateway Strategy has taken center stage at a high-level EU–Ethiopia Business Conference in Paris, where officials have committed to significant strategic investments in Ethiopia’s future.
High-level representatives from the European Union (EU), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Finance have convened to advance cooperation across four critical development pillars: Infrastructure, Energy, Digital Connectivity, Green Transition and advancing Climate-Resilient Growth.
Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, met with EU and EIB officials and has emphasized Ethiopia’s firm commitment to utilizing the Global Gateway framework. The partnership has been designed to spur inclusive growth, industrialization, and climate-resilient development within the country.
The constructive discussions have underscored a shared vision to strengthen sustainable investment and enhance economic integration, building a long-term cooperation rooted in mutual benefit and resilience.
