The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, stated that the organization will continue to strengthen its support for Ethiopia's reform agenda.

The Managing Director announced on her X (formerly Twitter) page that she held a fruitful discussion with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders' Summit held in South Africa.

She stated that their discussion focused on the changes brought about by the IMF's program support and the processes through which future support can be made comprehensive and inclusive.

The Managing Director reaffirmed that the IMF is committed to supporting Ethiopia's development.

Ethiopia, which participated in the G20 Leaders' Summit—the first to be held on African soil—has conducted fruitful discussions with the heads of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.), who held discussions with the leaders, informed them that Ethiopia's macro-economic reform is achieving commendable results.

It was also mentioned that a successful discussion was held with the President of the African Development Bank regarding the massive projects Ethiopia has initiated and specifically concerning the Bishoftu Airport project.
