Traditional Oromo leaders, known as Abba Gadas, have pledged their support for Ethiopia’s ongoing national dialogue, describing it as a vital mechanism for resolving long-standing disputes and fostering national unity. The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission is currently facilitating inclusive discussions across the country, aimed at bridging fundamental political and social divides and building a national consensus. Speaking in the town of Ambo, local elders and traditional leaders emphasized that the process offers a unique platform for different sectors of society to voice their concerns and contribute to a shared vision for the country's future.

Abba Gada Legesse Daba highlighted that the concept of consultation is deeply rooted in the traditional Gada system and noted that the current dialogue has already seen broad participation from various segments of the community. Having taken part in previous sessions in Addis Ababa and Adama, he expressed his commitment to raising public awareness to ensure the initiative achieves its intended goals. According to ENA, these community leaders believe the success of the dialogue is essential for Ethiopia's long-term stability, suggesting that the process is about more than just solving current problems—it is about securing a better future for the next generation.

Abba Gada Tariku Tura called on all stakeholders to play a constructive role in the proceedings to ensure the results meet the public's expectations. This sentiment was echoed by Bekele Bayetta, a local elder, who pointed out that the dialogue is crucial for strengthening mutual understanding and creating a peaceful environment. He added that a successful national dialogue would provide the necessary stability for Ethiopia to complete its major development projects and secure a lasting peace for all its citizens.
