A total of 2,000 Ethiopian nationals who were facing difficult conditions in Saudi Arabia have been safely repatriated.
The returnees, all male, arrived over the past week via 11 flights. The group includes 26 minors under the age of 18.
Since the government-led repatriation initiative launched on September 15, 2025, more than 82,500 citizens have been successfully brought back home.
In a related development driven by the government's citizen-centered diplomacy, 320 out of 1,655 Ethiopians, whose legal proceedings in Saudi Arabia were halted following a royal amnesty, were also recently returned.
The Ministry, alongside relevant stakeholders and partner organizations, is providing essential support, medical care, and transit services at airports and temporary shelters to facilitate smooth family reunifications.
Furthermore, the Ministry continues to collaborate on rehabilitation programs designed to assist victims of irregular migration upon their return from various host nations.
Moving forward, the Ministry will intensify efforts to raise public awareness regarding the dangers of human trafficking, mitigate irregular migration, and promote safe, legal pathways for overseas employment.
