Continental leaders and high-level delegation members have arrived in the capital, Addis Ababa, for the 39th African Union (AU) Summit, which begins in Ethiopia today.

Among those arriving today are South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Eswatini Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, and Togolese Foreign Minister Robert Dussey.

Upon their arrival at Bole International Airport, the guests were accorded a warm welcome by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Shewit Shanka, and the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birhanu Tsegaye.

The summit is being held this Saturday and Sunday at the African Union headquarters under the theme: "Ensuring Sustainable Water Supply and Safe Sanitation Systems: For the Success of Agenda 2063 Goals."

During their stay, the leaders are expected to deliberate on key issues aimed at strengthening continental cooperation and achieving the objectives of Agenda 2063.
