Ethiopian Muslims have gathered across the country today to celebrate the 1,447th Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan with grand public prayers, acts of charity, and reflections on national harmony.

In the capital, the historic Addis Ababa Stadium and surrounding streets were transformed into a sea of white robes as thousands of worshippers assembled for the Salat al-Eid. The event was attended by high-ranking government officials, members of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, and diplomats from various Islamic nations.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tuffa, congratulated the faithful and emphasized the importance of carrying the discipline and compassion of Ramadan into daily life. He called on the community to support the vulnerable and maintain the long-standing Ethiopian tradition of religious coexistence.

Reports from regional states, including Oromia, Amhara, Somali, and Afar, described similar vibrant celebrations. In Dire Dawa and Harar, the festivities were marked by traditional colorful processions, while in the South Ethiopia Region, local leaders joined worshippers to emphasize the role of faith in fostering regional stability.

The federal and regional security commands confirmed that the celebrations were conducted peacefully nationwide. Security forces worked alongside "Peace Ambassadors" and youth volunteers to ensure the safety of the massive congregations.

Beyond the spiritual observance, the day has been characterized by the "Eid-to-Eid" spirit of homecoming, with many members of the Diaspora joining local communities. As families gather for traditional meals, the overarching message from both religious and civic leaders remains clear: the strength of the nation lies in the "healthy synergy" and collective effort of its diverse citizens.
