Addis Ababa is being transformed into an inclusive city that serves all citizens equitably through a model of comprehensive development, according to Mayor Adanech Abiebie. The Mayor stated that the administration is building a city that leaves no one behind, fostering an environment that is accessible and fair for everyone.
Through a reformed 24/7 work culture characterized by diligence and integrity, the city is implementing holistic infrastructure that accommodates children, youth, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. This development also prioritizes balanced transport options for pedestrians, motorists, and cyclists. Mayor Adanech noted that Addis Ababa is rapidly evolving into a smart city that provides a conducive environment for consumers, investors, and businesses, while increasingly becoming a premier center for international conference tourism.
The Mayor further highlighted that the city is bridging its heritage with its future by integrating landmark projects such as the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, the Abrehot Library, and various green public spaces and open-air art venues. These efforts aim to solidify the capital as a vibrant center for diplomacy, multiculturalism, and national unity. Beyond making the city a symbol of national progress, the Mayor emphasized that the ongoing transformation of Addis Ababa serves as practical evidence that Ethiopia’s journey toward prosperity is well underway.
