The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC), Biniyam Eero, has publicly committed the state-run broadcaster to promoting multinational unity, national interests, and holistic developmentthroughout Ethiopia.

The House of People's Representatives (HPR) today formally approved Biniyam's appointment, which was nominated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Speaking after taking his oath before the HPR, Biniyam emphasized EBCs historical role as a pioneering media institution. He asserted that mass media is crucial for the nation's "comprehensive prosperity, development, and the intellectual awakening of society."

Biniyam pledged that EBC would carry out numerous tasks to sustain the nation's current development path. He specifically noted the corporations ongoing efforts to establish a prevailing national discourse and promised to strive for the long-standing demand of the Ethiopian people—development—by ensuring comprehensive prosperity.

The CEO concluded by stating that the institution is working diligently to accommodate both "the voice of the public and the interests of the state in a balanced manner."
