They say "if at first you don't succeed, try again," but one Polish man took that advice to a legendary extreme. After nine years and 139 failed attempts, an unnamed resident of Tarnów has finally passed his theoretical driving exam. Since 2017, the persistent candidate spent over €1,800 ($2,100) in fees to clear the mandatory computer-based test.
The breakthrough came after officials discovered the man had been studying with a "demo" version of the test software, which lacked many of the actual exam questions. Once he switched to the full program, his scores improved until he finally passed.
While his persistence is legendary, he isn't the national record holder; another Pole reportedly needed 163 tries over 17 years to pass. The Tarnów resident now moves on to the practical road exam to finally earn his license. The story is from Oddity Central.
