Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today held separate meetings in Addis Ababa with two of his Horn of Africa counterparts: Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The discussions with President Mohamud focused on regional cooperation. In a social media post, Prime Minister Abiy stated that the two leaders "reaffirmed our strong commitment to ensuring peace, stability, and development" in the Horn of Africa.
During his meeting with President Kiir, Prime Minister Abiy discussed bilateral issues and ways to strengthen ties between Ethiopia and South Sudan. The Prime Minister noted that the meeting was a productive opportunity to reinforce the partnership and address common priorities between the two nations, ultimately enhancing their shared interests and regional stability.
