Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mesfin Tasew, announced that construction of the Bishoftu International Airport is planned to begin by the end of November 2018 E.C.

Mesfin stated that the new airport will advance Ethiopia's aviation industry to a new level and further enhance the leading role Ethiopian Airlines plays in African air transport.

According to ENA, he added that preparations for the construction are nearing completion, and the selection of contractors for the initial phase of the project is underway. The CEO also reiterated the plan to begin construction by the end of November.
