The Ethiopian Navy officially inaugurated its new training center today, a key step in the nation's efforts to reclaim its historic maritime influence. The state-of-the-art facility, constructed by the Defense Main Engineering Department, was officially opened by Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces.

The center, which is shaped like a ship, was completed in two and a half years by the military's own engineers and professionals. According to Lieutenant General Desta Abiche, Head of the Defense Main Engineering Department, the facility includes barracks, classrooms, a modern dining hall, and an international-standard stadium.

The complex also features an internal asphalt road network and a protective wall, and has been landscaped with beautiful gardens, creating an aesthetically pleasing and functional environment for the naval trainees. The inauguration ceremony was attended by top military officials and commanders, underscoring the strategic importance of the project.
